Top-notch Japanese handcrafted marking knife. Suitable for general carving work, modeling, veneer cutting, working with bamboo, making inlays, grafting, chip cutting, toy making, and other minor woodworking processing. Also suitable for setting a chisel into a groove. The blade is extremely sharp and easy to sharpen, ensuring many years of use. These Kogatana knives can be used either bare or with a bamboo or leather cover, as is the Japanese tradition. For sharpening the kogatana, we recommend Japanese water stones.
